Today, I just finished one of the books that I read. This book entitled as "The honk and holler opening soon' which was written by Billie Letts. I bought this book in a secondhand store and it costs $0.23. The book was really old because it was published last 1998 with worn out pages. Actually, it was my cheapest book. Hahahahah. It was not the price that entice me to buy but the phrase "#1 New York Times Bestselling of WHERE THE HEART IS". My friend told me that if there was a phrase like that in a book or CD, it was surely a good one.
Moreover, the book taught me the realities in life. Caney Paxton was a Vietnam vet and the owner of the Honk and Holler, accepted many employees in his restaurant with unknown background like Vena an Indian while Bhui, a Vietnamese. He also accepted his foster parent Molly who portrayed a loving mother despite her daughter mistakes such as aborting her granddaughter and stealing her savings. But what bewitch me on this book was how Bhui struggled to adapt in a country with different culture, language and religion.
When I look back to the day that I bought the book, I never thought that a disgusting book could teach me a lesson.
The girl who wants to go back to her old self wherein no one knows her and she can live simply according to what she believes and she wants to be.

Today, Davao is celebrating the Philippine-Japan friendship day. As a part of celebration, Japan has been showing some of their movies which depicts their culture.

Unfortunately, I didnt see this movie because I didnt know that the venue would be in Cinema 4 at Gaisano Grand Citimall. Hahahha..
The good news of these movies is that they have english subtitles with free admission but the seats are first come and first serve basis. Moreover, here are the list of the movies:

A tragic day in Davao
Last June 28 was a tragic day in Davao. There were flash floods and vehicular accident. In the afternoon, I was riding in a jeepney going to NCCC mall to buy something. Unfortunately, there was a traffic jam because of the accident. According to the blabber driver, four people died on the spot. When our Jeepney passed that street, I saw that the multicab was almost crushed.
At night, there was a heavy rain. I didnt know that it would give casualty because I thought it was only a normal rain just like previous days. As usual morning of June 29, I felt ordinary but I was shocked because my sister called me. When I asked her at the telephone, she was asking my situation and I said I was okay. I never thought that the flood would occur four to five blocks from my house. After some minutes, my mom told me that there was a really big flood which resulted to 25 casualties. I was really ashamed to her because I did not know what was happening around me. Then I said "Well, this is the effect of climate change. I hope we could do something to prevent this tragedy."
I really hope and pray to God that this would not happen again.

Civil Service Passer
Several weeks ago, I was attending a ceremony because I passed the Civil Service Board Exam Professional. For me, it was just an ordinary day. I never special anything about it. In fact, I dont know what address did I used. Hahaha... I just received a message from my cousins telling me that we all passed to the so called licensure.
Nevertheless, I didnt know the significance of this licensure except of course when I had a talk with my friend. Like me, she is a also a Civil Service Professional Passer and their office would now become a department. Thus, there would be regularization of the employees. Since most of her colleagues are not passers even though they are working for a longer period of time than her, they could not be called regular employee. Regularization is very important because it would entitle you to more benefits such as higher wage and the so called security of tenure which are the main goals of all workers both in private and public offices.
Furthermore, here is the results of the last exam. Just choose and select in which region and what type of exam did you take. Maybe, you have your friends and relatives in it. Check this site: http://excell.csc.gov.ph/cscweb/exam_results.html

My cat
When I sign out in my yahoomail, the browser turned out into its homepage. I was really very shocked when I saw a video of a begging cat for his food. This cat reminds of my pet in our house. I used to hug him despite my parents protest and let him kiss my cheek with his cute nose. He is really very fat that children are afraid because his size looks like a dog or old people would like to buy him because he looks handsome. But when he is really starving, he would jump into our table even when we have visitors. He likes to drink milk and eat only fish and bread. Thus, when I am eating and drinking those foods, I am oblige to share those with him.
Furthermore, this is the video of cat begging for his food. Check out this link: http://purinaanimalallstars.yahoo.com/?v=8800385&l=100000085

In a relationship status
Every time that I will see my facebook account with "In a relationship" status, I dont know if I will be happy or sad. I keep on asking myself "Am I selfish?" "Will I have my own karma?". I have to admit that there are positive and negative effects in what I did.
Lets just begin in negative effects, some of the people I know are silently angry with me and they find ways on how to avoid me. Sometimes, they would snarled at me whenever they answer my questions. On the other hand, some people would be happy because their awaited dreams would now come true and I could now have a peace of mind because no one would ask personal questions or further research about me.
I have to admit that sometimes,I am hoping that I could break down barriers. The second guy would appear and we could have a chance to talk like friends. However, I know that this is only an illusion.
Well, I used to remember the words that I told my cousin several months ago "Sometimes , its not a question if you had a successful or bitter-end kind of relationship, what matters most is that your cousin learn things which would help her how to become a better person someday".

Alma Mater
Yesterday, I visited my alma mater which is the University of the Philippines Mindanao or commonly called UPMin to get my diploma and transcript of records. My cousins used to laugh at me every time they would hear that I didnt have those things. But never today, because i have now my diploma and I will receive my transcript of records after 10days.
Furthermore, when I visited my university, I noticed some changes, Roads were now cemented and new buildings have been constructed. I will just upload more pictures because I saw my friend that is why I forgot to get pictures on it. Neverthless, what I really like in my university is the serenity of the place which gives me happiness and contentment. A kind of feeling that I cannot get living in the city.

New P20 bill
Several months ago, when I was riding in a jeepney, a passenger paid his fare to the driver. The driver immediately did not accept the money because he thought it was fake. Soon, the passengers told the driver that was the image of the P20 bill of the Philippines.
Since it was my first time to see the new P20 bill, I asked the driver if I could change my old P20 bill to the new bill. Moreover, I got the new bill and wondered why government officials made a new bill. For me, it was just a waste of money and I had been looking if there was a face of government official because some people would create ways in order for them to be recognized since they are in the working in the government.
Furthermore, when looking at the new bill, I noticed some changes. At the front of the new P20bill is a younger version of the late President Manuel Quezon, Malacanang Palace and the Declaration of Filipino as National Language last 1935. It was like all the features of the old bill was put in one side of new P20bill. Furthermore, at the back side of the new P20 bill are the pictures of Banaue Rice Terraces, Palm Civet and the Philippines map.
When I began to think the features at the back side of the new bill, my perception changed. Maybe, this is a way or means to promote our tourism sector which can help in boosting our economy.

Earth Hour
Today, the world just celebrated the so called Earth hour. This is annual event in which its goal is to combat the climate change by saving electricity. In Davao, the light should be turn off at 8:30-9:30 am.
However, I was attending a ceremony that is why I didnt practice turning off the light. But in that ceremony, there was a reduce amount of electricity which was given by the Davao Light that is why it was hot in our room.
Well, I dont know the explanation why is it the logo showed a 60 number. Hahha.. But then, I got a picture from it in SM Davao. I was very happy because in that "statue' there were notes written by the children on how to save electricity. Well, I just pray that those words will be put into action.

Things
It has been a long time since I write an article on this blog. The topics and pictures are now ready but it seems that I dont have the strength to write words.
Lately, there have been changes in my life and I realize some things. Things that have been added and would help me to become mature. But whatever it is, I know that God is with me even though I am in the happiest and saddest time of my life.

Fit N Right
A year ago, I was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis or wound in the stomach. I was really ashamed of it because narrow-minded people would think that I didn't have money to buy my food. Well, personally I don't what now is the cause of it because I didn't skip any meals. One thing I know, i have an ulcer. Hahahah....
This kind of illness would prohibit me from eating or drinking foods that can contribute to weight loss. Every time my aunt would buy Fit N Right, I really wonder what was the taste of it.
To cure my ignorance, I bought Fit N Right two days ago. I was really proud because I drank all of it without stomach ache. But after three hours, I feel very hungry to the point that I would collapse. This phenomenon decided me to go to McDonalds since all the stores near at my boarding house were closed.
I was shocked because there were a lot of people in that fast food chain. Moreover, I saw some of my friends, schoolmates and former roommates. There I realized that Davao is just a small place.

ATM cards
ATM cards play a significant role in human life. Employers send their worker's salary in their ATM card or the so called Automated Telling Machine card. When I was studying in a university, my parents used to send my allowances in my ATM. It was more convenient because I was very sure that the money was not fake and I didn't want to handle large amount of money with my own hands or placed it in my pockets.
As of now, I have two ATM's---- the PNB or the Philippine National Bank and the Landbank. The latter is my original one and it is a government bank. We applied in that government bank because my uncle is a employee of that bank. I used to remember my uncle would me advices about some tips on getting money from the ATM machine safely.
Moreover, when I was surfing the internet, I just read an article which had the same advices just like my uncle. I wanted it to share to all people because this information is really a very big help. Check out this link:

Plight of a tutor
The situation that happened in the tutorial could not still get off my head. Contrary to popular belief, I was the one who told my mom to get a part time job because I want to have an experience in becoming a better person. I envy my classmates who had experienced in teaching students. However, when I told my classmates about this they would just keep silent. Also, they told me that they look down on their tutors. I did not expect that this were true.
Moreover, the management in the tutorial gave me two to three kids. These children are slow learners and indolent. The management is hoping that if a teacher who was a graduate of a national university in the Philippines would handle them, their grade would increase and they could graduate in elementary. As, what you can see, the pressure is with me. Nevertheless, I had to make the learning enjoyable as much as possible and I have to "spoon-feed" them. But to make matter worst, they did not tell me about their assignments and I have to bargain with them every time we have a lesson. If I would not do it with them, they would just play around.
Now, I decided to resign from that tutorial because I received too much insult from them. Yet the management was on their side. In just a matter of P50 per 1.5 hours I would receive a a hurtful insult. I did not think highly of myself but in a matter of P50 this would happen to me. Sometimes, I think and ask myself is this the plight of workers in the Philippines?

Stupid and ill mannered student
Today, is my one month anniversary as a subject tutorial. I am supposed to be happy but I have a bad news. I quarreled with one of my students. This student has been studying in one of the prestigious catholic university in Davao. As expected they have to be good mannered and religious. However, I was really very shocked because almost all of the students in that tutorial know all kinds of bad words. To make the matter worse, this black complexion student of mine is a slow learner.
During my first week, I just reprimand him. But as time goes by, he is getting worse. Since he is slow learner, I am oblige to give him basic problems and after that turning them into complex problems. When I did that thing for the first time, he gave me a f**k sign or the infamous PI in tagalog. I just got out at the room or I would not look at him for the rest of the lesson. Sometimes, he would even said in front of me "i**t teacher" or "your **ther is a s"n of a d**k". I started to think that when I would shout back at him, he would respect me because I am a strict and he would be afraid. Because of this, I decided to say all bad words that I know and telling him that he is the most stupid student in that tutorial. In short, I stoop down to his level and I also insulted him.
This student decided to change to another teacher. I dont know what is the reaction of the parents or the management but I am willing to fight for my own rights no matter what cost. I am not afraid of them because I know that I am right. In fact, I want to talk with the parents.

Unsual thing
The things that had happened yesterday night could not still get out of my head. It was like a wound that keep on inflicting as time goes by. I wanted to send a message on friendster if I am really the topic. This was very unusual because it was the first time that he opened what was really in his mind. Yet, I am afraid of the consequences because we are not the only people living or working in this planet. Sometimes, we have to think the welfare of the others.
Last paragraph
I am writing on how to describe myself and as a past time I was about to write an article about what I feel for these past days. Why I would want to sit in once corner while looking at the darkness. Well, this article would be another post because I have an important matter to discuss.
Nevertheless, I searched my university in the youtube if there were available post . I end up clicking with all the programs such as a lyric that has been played and performed in our university. Even if I was tired, I still read the words which was posted last October. I read this lyrics because it has been one of the most popular song in my university. But what caught my attention was the last paragraph. I really asked myself if I am the topic. Until, now I keep on remembering what had happened. I dont know if they would be happy or not but I did not feel guilty about it. For me, it was the opposite. Furthermore, I would not say something about it because it was already too late. As what they say, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Besides, what had happened would be cover up with the present relationship that the boy has. :-)

Troubleshooting
These past few days, I really got the fright of my life. I thought I could not write again in my blog. The posts could not be seen which is very important in a blog. I asked the help account of blogspot but I had to wait for some minutes for the reply. During these times, I could not think of anyone who could help me in solving this problem except of course myself.
Then, I just do the basic troubleshooting like the trial and error method using the Blog post editor. I am very thankful that it works in my blog. I wish that this would not happen again because I really love this blog. It is like a picture of who I am.

Part-time job
Today is the first time that I received my salary in my part time job. When I received the small amount, I was really very shocked because I am not used with it (forgive me for saying this one).. However, as minutes pass by, I feel contented with it. Although it is a little amount, I am still very thankful because they accepted me despite that it was too late and I can have another experience which could help me to become a better person.
I am also very happy today because one of my students gave me a chocolate.
If she only knows how much I really love chocolates. Hahaha.. Actually, the student would only take a tutorial if it is finals week. But, I am very happy because she passed her examination in math. Moreover, I am closer with her than my other two pioneering students. Well, I really hope that this chocolate would last for a long time because I am planning to share it with my sister.

Grandparent's garden
When I was young, my aunt would plant flowers in my grandparent's garden. There were a lot of flowers that I had remembered. But the flower that really caught my eye was this kind of flower. A very simple and unpopular flower. Until now, I really dont know what its name despite that graduated as BS Biology major in Ecology in a university. I used to remember, my friends would ask me every time I would stop and hold it petals. I just answered them with a smile. I never told them about my grandparents' garden.
Eighteen years later, the garden is replaced by some plants such as orchids and some fruit trees. Some portion of the garden is now converted into a warehouse. The big and robust tree which I could not hug with my both hands was cut.
Now, when I would pass that street to buy any kind of bread, I wonder if how I could plant this flower again to my grandparent's garden.

Vaccination days
Oh…. I am really very sorry because it took me several weeks to write again on my blog
Several weeks ago, I was bitten by a Labrador dog named Nica. This happened when I arrived in Davao and entered my boarding house. I thought this would not happen because we were friends in the past weeks and she waggled her tail when I opened the gate.
At first, my cousins could not see the wound. But I am very sure that it fangs really touched my back right leg. But after two hours, my cousin and I noticed the swell and enlargement of the two wounds.
The day after, I decided to go to the doctor and had an injection of anti-tetanus and rabies vaccine although the dog is clean. The doctor advised me to take amoxicillin three times a day which was good for one week.
As the doctor told me, I had to undergo three types of anti rabies vaccination both on my shoulders. The first one was schedule last January 3, then January 7 and January 11. Well, I completed my “vaccination days” and I was very thankful that NIca is still alive up to now…

As the doctor told me, I had to undergo three types of anti rabies vaccination both on my shoulders. The first one was schedule last January 3, then January 7 and January 11. Well, I completed my “vaccination days” and I was very thankful that NIca is still alive up to now…

Nuffnang
Yesterday, I made an account at nuffnang because I wanted to have an inspiration in making posts in my blog. I was very happy that my cousin also supported me and asked details about it because she wanted to apply. She also made comments on how to improve my blog.
